Computer, as we all know is very useful tool in modern era. By Computer we do not mean only set of mouse, keyboard or monitor, it ranges from pocket mobile to large scale automation systems.

Today, let's talk about classes of computing applications and their features one by one for recognition of all essential types of computers and its advantages, used in Information Technology. The ever-growing market of Hardwares is advancing with new technologies day by day. So, it becomes very important for all of us to have deep knowledge about the outcomes and protocols of latest information technology. Here are three broad classes of computer when talking about their applications.  

Personal Computers: These computers are designed specifically for individual's personal usage. PCs are very good at manipulation of information for single use. Costs of PCs are low and usually execute third party software. It is 35 years old technology.

Servers: Servers are modern computing systems having large number of resources and accessed via network. Servers typically used for execution of large programs mainly used for scientific or engineering purposes. These provide greater computing power, storage and I/O capacity. Servers span the widest range in cost and capability. These are designed for large workload. Some servers are low-end servers, such servers may not fulfil basic PC requirements (those having no keyboard, display) but are very costly. Such servers are mainly used for file storage, simple web serving and small business applications, hence no need for display or keyboard.



Supercomputers : Supercomputers are advanced computation systems, which consists of millions of processors and terabytes of memory, relatively very expensive. Supercomputeres are used for high-end scientific and engineering tasks such as weather forcasting, protein structure determination and oil exploration etc. Supercomputers are at the peak of computation but they relatively represent small fraction of servers and small fraction of overall computer market in terms of total revenue.



Embedded computers: Embedded computers involves computing systems in devices to carry out different tasks, for example microprocessors in cars are refered as embedded computers because computing system(microprocessors) is controlling functions of device(car). Another example is of airplane having large hardware components controlled by processors. Embedded computers are not looking like computers but it works on basic principles of computation. Embedded applications have unique attitude on cost and power consumption. Embedded computer may sometimes very devastating (when plane computers crashes). Keeping in view, its drawback of stringent limitation, redundancy is often rather must adopted in shape of standby systems.



Conclusion: Computing application of IT components are essential for future aspects in IT. Today, we got good knowledge about different classes of computers and their special applications.
